Spicy Get Well Broth

SPICY GET WELL BROTH

From Starve a Cold, Feed a Fever

2 qts chicken broth
1 inch ginger, julienned
4 large cloves garlic, slivered
4 large cloves garlic, minced
2 Tbsp cilantro, chopped
1/2 jalapeño pepper, chopped finely
1 tsp kosher salt (less if broth is already salty)
3/4 tsp green curry paste
1 small carrot, julienned
Zest of half a lemon
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tomato, chopped
2 Tbsp lime or lemon juice

Bring chicken broth to a simmer. Then add all ingredients except the tomato and two tablespoons lime or lemon juice. After simmering for 20 minutes, add the last 2 ingredients. Broth freezes well.
